4 Ways to Recognize Custodial Workers

We all know that cleanliness is close to godliness, even when it comes to our offices and schools. When you walk through the door every morning, you expect to see vacuumed floors, emptied trash cans, clean surfaces and illuminated ceiling lights. But have you ever given thought to who is in charge of cleaning our buildings? Today is National Custodial Workers Recognition Day, which celebrates those who keep our buildings in tip top shape. Here are four simple ways that you can show your appreciation for these men and women.

  1. Share a picture or video on social media of your building’s custodial staff and use the hashtag #CustodialWorkersRecognitionDay. They will love the shoutout!
  2. Write a note or make a banner thanking your custodial staff. Have your coworkers sign it and leave personal messages of thanks for their hard work.
  3. Throw a party for all staff members to give your custodial workers a chance to relax and meet other employees.
  4. Give your custodial workers a small gift. This can be anything from a gift card to movie tickets to certificates of recognition thanking them for their work.

We hope you take time to recognize your building’s custodial staff this week. Show us how you express your gratitude for all they do by using the hashtag #WeAre4Recognition.
