Ways to Recognize National Grandparents Day

We know the best parents get promoted to grandparents and this Sunday, September 11th, we’ll celebrate National Grandparents Day. President Jimmy Carter signed legislation in 1978 proclaiming the first Sunday after Labor Day as National Grandparents Day.

This is a day to appreciate and recognize your grandparents for all they have done for you and your family.

Celebrations can be as simple as sending a card or calling your grandparents. If you live close to your grandparents, you could think about their favorite hobby or pastime and make plans to do it together: maybe it’s watching a movie, going to a football game, or inviting the family over for dinner.

Maybe your grandparents could use some tech help. This weekend’s a great time to give it! From setting up an email account so they can keep in touch with friends and family to showing them the ropes of Pokemon Go, there’s a lot younger generations can give back to grandparents.
