- Donate to a local food bank or shelter. Even if you don’t have a lot of spare time in the summer months, an easy way to give back to the community is by donating clothes, food and supplies to local food banks and shelters. Reach out to your local programs to see what items they are in need of most.
- Mentor at a summer youth program. Many students get involved in local programs and camps during summer break. Volunteering by serving as a mentor is a great way to invest in the youth of your community.
- Visit those in need of company. Summer is a great time to get away and take a fun vacation. However, some people don’t have that luxury. Visiting people in local assisted living facilities, shelters and hospitals is a great way to show you care.
